Originally from the northeast United States, Colin has worked with the company since 2009 while working in the luxury hotel production environment for over a decade as a two-time DET and now serving as Director of Event Technology for Hyatt Regency Chicago. Previous to that, he worked extensively in both the live and studio music production environment in Nashville, TN and as a training and ground operations coordinator for Southwest Airlines in San Diego. His key areas of focus continue to be customer satisfaction, employee excellence & training, and business results while taking personal pride in his dedication to finding creative solutions for his customers and hotel partners.

Mike Hearell started in the AV industry on an invitation from a friend to come help out with setting and striking some gear at hotel in South Florida. From there he joined an AV company where he worked for several years in many capacities, leaving as a Director.
He joined Encore four years ago as a technician at the Hyatt Regency Bonaventure in Florida where he quickly moved up to the DET role and turned around a property that was underperforming.
This success did not go unnoticed and in September 2012 he was asked to move to San Francisco to help stabilize a property that was also underperforming from a customer service and revenue perspective, but most importantly, was coming up for renewal. Mike made an immediate impact in all areas of the business.
His focus on customer service and commitment to Encore’s core values and philosophies helped us renew the contract. Under his leadership, his hotel has reached new highs in both revenue and Medallia (customer service) scores.
There have been so many great events, but one of my most recent favorites would be FABAIC 2012. It was an amazing show with great people and incredible artwork.

Pool Party at Mandalay Bay for “The Mexican” (movie) crew wrap party. I helped coordinate labor for set up/tear down. I worked with the Production crew for payment, specs for lighting/décor, etc. It was fun as I was able to see famous actors, Julia Roberts, Brad Pitt, Jennifer Aniston, and James Gandolfini.
